Finance Manager, BF - Medical

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES/

- Business Partner to Medical selective TA

Act as the primary finance contact for the Chinas Medical team with focus on selected BU/TA/DA (Oncology Medical) and across functional including BUBF, Controlling team and FP&A team.  Be fully integrated into the function to understand the operational challenges and opportunities from the inside. With a value creation focus, provide tailored financial advice and work closely with senior leaders and other stakeholders to influence and support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and data-driven insights.

  • Support Medical leaders for business decisions to drive cost control and optimize resources through robust finance analysis
  • Support monthly landing forecast
  • Maintain and understand key performance indicators such as cost and FTE variance
  • Support launch readiness and alliance product alignment/reporting

- Budgeting & Planning

Support financial planning cycles and AF process alongside other Finance Business Partners to support the budgeting and forecasting processes for the China medical team and responsible for system input. Work cross functional with BU side to provide financial insights that streamline alignment among different teams on the investments priorities and be flexible on making ad-hoc analysis based on needs to better address the financial positions. 

  • Support team and work closely with functions to process budget cycles, alliance forecast
  • Facilitate budget assumption validation to support a robust plan
  • Support cascading down the budget target to business and helping business prioritize the investment

- Analyzing & Reporting

Provide and oversee monthly financial performance reporting through articulating variance analysis, landing forecast gap and present findings to stakeholders and recommend actions to optimize financial outcomes. Manage and track CO2 usage for the teams to ensure carbon policy was well adopted.

  • Ensure month-end and year-end closing properly
  • Support monthly report pack to business and AF monthly settlement process.
  • Follow up with identified improvement opportunities
  • Support various report requirements per business request

- Business Case & Project Support:
Support and make recommendations on the operational process to continue improving efficiency. ​​​​​​​Participate in ad-hoc projects such as evidence generation MPT project and BI dashboard.

- Collaboration with Broader Finance and Cross-Functional Teams
Facilitate and lead cross-team and cross-functional discussions where joint financial decisions need to be made. Be flexible on the changes occurred to the teams and be willing to adapt to the change in a positive way.  Maintain effective working relationships with local controlling teams to ensure all transactions and procedures comply with regulations and AZ policy

JOB REQUIREMENTS /工 作 要 求 

Academic / Professional qualification / 学 历 / 专 业 资 格

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above (Finance or related)
  • CPA, or other equivalent certification is plus

Technical / skill training / 技 术 / 技 能 训 练

  • FP&A or business finance knowledge and experiences
  • Good command of Excel/PPT

Essential     必 需  

  • Accounting/reporting/finance analyzing experience
  • At least 5 year in budgeting & planning field
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential
  • Have strong sense of responsibility and strong ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

Desirable    理 想

  • Pharma / Medical device industry experience/Audit firm experience
  • Working experience in big four, manager level above preferred.

Language ability / 语 言 能 力

  • Fluent written and spoken English

Computer literacy / 电 脑 知 识

  • Good command of Excel and Power point
  • Experienced SAP / ERP user

Others / 其 他

  • Strong cross function communication skill and work independently
  • Good business sense, can quickly identify customers’ need and address it
  • Pleasant personality and able to work with BU/ function member
