Legal Services Data Collection Analyst - China
Major Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
In this role you will be responsible for:
• Technical execution of standardized data collection procedures, managing tasks and timelines to ensure the quality and integrity of evidence in support of lawsuits, internal investigations, or compliance requirements
• Organize your workload to efficiently execute multiple and sometimes competing requests
• Process, transfer, and maintain collected data in accordance with legal requirements and team protocols
• Prepare clear, concise, and accurate written documentation of procedures and outcomes.
• Closely coordinate with internal and global stakeholders including project managers, colleagues, attorneys, and compliance investigators by providing timely updates and communicating any issues or delays.
• Work closely with business and IT resources to define eDiscovery playbook requirements
• When needed, escalate technical problems to your manager and work with IT and cloud platform providers to resolve collection and transfer challenges.
Key tasks include:
• Utilize collection and processing tools, including platforms like Microsoft Purview, Encase, Cellebrite and command-line utilities, to gather data from sources such as Microsoft 365 Exchange, company-shared drives, mobile devices, HR and finance systems, and other digital repositories.
• Ensure all steps are properly tracked, results documented, and documentation handed off to support downstream legal review or compliance investigations.
• Assist with the normalization, extraction, and organization of data, including metadata and text, for use in review or litigation platforms such as Relativity or Nuix Discover.
Minimum Requirements:
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Must haves
o Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, information technology, engineering, data management, law, or related discipline)
o At least 2 years of experience in investigations, eDiscovery, operating legal technology, forensic collections, cybersecurity or other fields related to technical aspects of eDiscovery
o Understanding of key eDiscovery concepts such as how we extract and use metadata
o Technical background, including education and/or experience of eDiscovery
o Demonstrated ability to execute and document technical procedures with accuracy
o Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks
o Ability to appropriately troubleshoot technical issues and escalate obstacles to management
o Solid written and verbal communication in English
o Demonstrated ability to quickly master new software and digital tools
o Ability to work effectively as part of a global team with members across several time zones
o Analytical mindset and good judgment regarding data integrity and security
• Preferable
o Work history in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry
o Expertise (at least familiarity) with Relativity and/or Nuix Discover (formerly called Ringtail)
o Ability to create and run SQL queries and stored procedures
o Prior experience working with legal technology
