Senior/Principal Scientist, Radiation Science and Theranostic

The Senior Scientist, Radiation Science & Theranostic serves as the primary subject matter expert for molecular imaging workflows across the company's clinical trial portfolio. Acting as a key resource for clinical sites, the Senior Scientist ensures that SPECT/PET image acquisition, data transfer, and radiopharmaceutical handling comply with GCP guidelines and radiation safety standards, directly influencing data-driven decisions throughout the drug development lifecycle.

Typical Accountabilities

  • Responsible for providing radiation science expertise and input during the clinical development of RCs, supporting radiopharmaceutical drug development from a radio scientist perspective
  • Lead the authoring, cross-functional development, and clinical compliance of radiation related trial documents, including Image Review Charters (IRC), Imaging Operations Manuals (IOM), Data Transmittal Forms (DTF), and Dosimetry Manuals.
  • Partner closely with Clinical Operations to manage and oversee the technical, operational, and imaging-related aspects of clinical trials. Ensure all activities adhere strictly to study protocols, timelines, and GCP/ICH regulatory guidelines.
  • Direct the internal processing of quantitative image data and lead internal dosimetry modeling and estimation efforts to support ongoing research, multi-disciplinary pipelines, and broader company initiatives.
  • Address complex radiation safety inquiries, provide expert counsel regarding diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceutical protocols, and establish clear radiation safety precaution standards for clinical teams.
  • Apply a deep working knowledge of modern radiological IT and electronic infrastructure—including DICOM standards, PACS architectures, IHE profiles, quantitative image processing software, and advanced visualization tools.



Qualifications and Skills

  • Ph.D. in Medical Physics, or medical imaging technology.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial experience
  • Exceptional verbal and written English fluency and communication skills
  • Work experience in radiation department as a medical physicist after Ph.D. graduation
  • Direct experience working within clinical trial operations
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical imaging site setup, scanner calibration/qualification, and imaging protocol harmonization
  • High level of competence in standard business computer applications and hands-on experience navigating advanced medical imaging workstations (e.g., MIM, Hermes, OsiriX, or proprietary vendor workstations)
