Senior Director, Business Development – Evinova China

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the China business development strategy aligned with corporate growth goals, including pricing and marketing approaches.
  • Identify key market opportunities and define target customer segments (pharma, CROs, Biotech, hospital networks).
  • Lead strategic planning for new account development, partnerships, and territory expansion.
  • Manage the entire sales lifecycle from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Develop account plans and sales forecasts; report on pipeline and performance metrics to executive leadership.
  • Drive revenue growth through AI-Enabled Evinova platform sales, implementation services, and long-term commercial agreements.
  • Build and nurture executive-level relationships with key stakeholders in pharma R&D, clinical operations, and IT.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to clients, identifying unmet needs and co-creating tailored digital clinical solutions.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings to build brand and trust.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop compelling sales collateral, campaigns, and thought leadership materials.
  • Work closely with solution delivery and product teams to ensure customer feedback informs roadmap and delivery excellence.
  • Align with regulatory and QARA functions to navigate compliance and data governance in China’s market.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory shifts, and competitive activities to inform strategy and positioning.
  • Identify potential local channel or service partners to strengthen commercial capabilities.

SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES NEEDED

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or MBA preferred. Background in Life Sciences, Business, or Engineering is ideal.
  • 12+ years of experience in business development or strategic sales in the industry.
  • Proven track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes and closing 7-figure+ deals.
  • Extensive experience in software sales and delivering commercial value in the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Significant knowledge in sales, marketing, and pricing strategies.
  • Deep understanding of clinical trials, AI and digital clinical research technologies (agentic AI, eCOA, eConsent, RTSM, wearable integration, etc), and SaaS business models.
  • Strong network among senior pharma and CRO executives in China is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to influence at the senior level in external organizations.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in commercial and operational management.
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to improving patient experiences.
  • Goal-oriented, result-driven and ’Can-do’ attitude.
  • Fluent English and Mandarin, both can be used as working language.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience driving global change in complex global organizations.
  • Experience in digital health solutions.
