About the Role

• Liaise with data scientists to understand their challenges and work with them to help productions models, algorithms.
• Be part of the development roadmap to build and operationalize our data science environment, platforms and tooling.
• Proactively identifying Data Analytics opportunities to deliver innovative solutions to provide competitive advantage.
• Define requirements specification, Coordinate UAT, Execute & Ensure Adaptive Delivery Framework (SDLC) documentation with business partners & vendors.
• Ensuring a good data flow between database and backend systems with high performance data pipelines.
• Liaise with other teams to enhance our technological stack, to enable the adoption of the latest advances in data processing
• Lead technology processes from concept development to completion of project deliverables.
• Testing and assessing the quality of new tools.

Candidate Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

• Bioinformatics domain expertise is required
• Good communication, influencing and relationship building skills, capable of interpreting and discussing technical IT terms with a non-technical business audience.
• Evidence of working with Agile project delivery methodologies.
• Strong software development skills in Python, Nextflow, R programming language, with proficiency in Python preferred
• Modern DevOps mindset, using best of breed DevOps toolchains, such as Git, Jenkins.
• Experience with AWS cloud environments. Knowledge of VPC, EC2, object storage service, RDS, Lambda, Kubernetes, docker and serverless is essential. Certification in appropriate areas will be viewed favorably.
• Understanding of the vital guardrails required for different use cases and data sensitivities.
• Understanding of the latest data science tools.
• Creative, collaborative & product focused
• Entrepreneurial and enthusiastic approach to solving problems
• Ability to supervise contract workers, as assigned.
• Fluent Chinese in oral and written
• Fluent English in written

Desirable

• Skilled in Design Thinking through iterative process, seek to understand the user, challenge assumptions, and redefine problems in an attempt to identify alternative strategies and solutions that might not be instantly apparent with initial level of understanding.
• Broad knowledge of Pharmaceutical Drug Development process.
• Knowledge of emerging regulatory/digital trends and risks affecting the pharmaceutical industry. 
• Advanced Data Analytics Skill.
• Experience building large scale data processing pipelines
• Experience working on regulatory data
• Fluent English in oral
