Associate Director- Medical Excellence
This role provides leadership and management to the following areas within Medical Organization and to lead medical information & Education team delivering valuable multi-channel medical education to target customers with measurable impact.
· Lead Medical Affairs Operation, to ensure operation effectiveness, optimize MA team structure, accountability and resources deployment
· Perform performance Management to ensure fully delivery of medical affairs objectives
· Strengthen medical function capability and enhance cross-functional collaboration to close the scientific leadership gap
· Lead MIE team to demonstrate value to business by means of HCP education, internal colleague’s education and patient support.
· Build network with global to proactively involve in global team from MI perspective. Collaborate with external partner to expand MI’s awareness.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead Medical Affairs Operation, to ensure operation effectiveness, optimize MA team structure, accountability and resources deployment
· Standardize operation process and improve team budget management through identifying areas for smart saving and standardize spending standard.
· Lead medical planning and facilitate medical business review to meet business timeline.
· Support monthly leadership meeting and other business meetings eg. Global visit. Ensure on time delivery quality agenda design.
· Build and enhance medical IT systems and platform
Perform performance Management to ensure fully delivery of medical affairs objectives
· Medical KPI in place. Ensure quality tracking for division monthly KPI. Provide trainings for people manager on report introduction and interpretation to build up using behavior.
· Design research tools and feedback channels to monitor and track KPI
Strengthen medical function capability and enhance cross-functional collaboration to close the scientific leadership gap
· Develop and execute annual Medical L&D Plan
· Upgrade Medical Leadership team and people manager’s leadership capability.
· Improve MSL and MA capability through quarterly forums, train the trainer and annual assessment.
Support MA image build-up and reinforce medical network through internal communication
· Established both scientific leadership and functional communication plan. Ensure timely release of VP newsletter, Town hall communication and global communication on China news.
· Continue to build AZ industry image by support MA leadership sharing at industry events.
· Conduct MA department management events such as open day, Townhall meetings.
Lead team to demonstrate scientific leadership to support Expansion by MIE innovation
· Lead team to leverage and optimize current platform, expand platforms’ utilization to cover customers as more as possible.
· Lead team to understand business needs and ensure suitable and valuable medical materials are created and delivered based on HCP needs
· Explore innovative education model of precise and measurable medical education project
· Collaborate with internal and external partner to support internal colleagues and external HCPs on medical knowledge enhancement
Build network with global to proactively involve in global team from MIE perspective to expand AZ China MIE awareness
· Build global network to learn and best practice sharing
REQUIREMENTS
Academic / Professional qualification
· Master’s degree with strong medical background with more than 2 years clinical experiences, and more than 5+ year on relevant experience of medical affairs in pharmaceutical company
· Minimum 3 years of people management required
Technical / skill
· Possesses Scientific/Medical knowledge and technical skills involved in executing core MA/MSL activities
· Ability to manage multiple priorities. Must be able to identify and analyze the needs of the business and translate problems into business opportunities.
· Experience and proven success in leading cross functional teams

· Experience in implementation of a compliance and auditing program
