China Security Officer
Job Summary
To provide leadership and direction for AZ China and be the principal security point of contact for BU leaders.To contribute towards designing, developing and deploying the Security Framework, Strategy, Standards and Procedures in line with the Global Security AZ Standards.Drive proactive and reactive security initiatives across the region to protect AstraZeneca employees, estateand reputation; in order to preserve business innovation growth and productivity.
Typical Accountabilities
- Manage all Security affairs for the country ensuring that goals and responsibilities are implemented and maintained ethically and effectively.
- Coordinate security assurance reviews across the AstraZeneca estate, in collaboration with the Site Security Managers/Security Champions and Facilities Management
- Develop and lead the Security Network in the country to ensure those with a security responsibility are fully informed of the requirements of the Facility Security Global Standard, have an open forum for sharing best practice, and a secure forum to share threat intelligence.
- To be the AstraZeneca Security Lead for the contracted security provider(s)
- Identify and assess security related risks and maintain a Risk Register in collaboration with Global Security Intelligence – advise and report to the Head of Global Security as appropriate
- Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of all incidents involving crime, security violations, critical security intelligence and security-related trends via appropriate reporting systems
- Review site/Marketing Company incident reports and provide guidance to ensure their prompt closure
- Provide security resources, including short notice response to crisis situations, to protect the assets and employees of AstraZeneca throughout the country.
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Security Field, Risk Management or related discipline. (An advanced degree is preferred).
- Experience in a security role at a country level in a multinational corporate environment in a regulated industry
- Commercial experience dealing with and influencing senior business stakeholders
- Experience of liaising with law enforcement / government bodies regionally
- Former roles which have demonstrated leadership and transformation skills
- Experience of Crisis Management and Business Continuity
- Experience of senior level briefing / influencing
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent vocational experience, with formal qualification in investigations, intelligence, Physical Security, Security Systems
- Spoken and written fluency in English
- Keep abreast of relevant travel security risks as well as maintain oversight of travel security support in collaboration with the Global Travel and Events Security Manager
- Organize and oversee executive protection for the SET/Board when travelling and at meeting venues across the country when required, and in consultation with the Head of Global Security
- Develop and maintain appropriate liaison with law enforcement and government agencies as required
- Identify and address pertinent statutory and regulatory security requirements
- Provide support to business continuity efforts as necessary. Partner with related functions to contribute to a holistic Business Continuity Plan with the intent of assisting in the mitigation of impacts from multi-spectrum events
- Actively participate in exercise simulation scenarios to test the various high-risk country and site crisis plans. Identify and propose gap resolutions for local crisis plans.
