Senior Manager-Marketing Capability Building
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
Lead the marketing capability building for MKT team across China. Build on the existing capability framework to systematically iterate and localize it, refining capability models, skill standards, and assessment mechanisms, and drive implementation across business units through training and enablement. This role requires dual experience in marketing and L&D, the ability to co-create and deliver curricula with external vendors, and a strong interest in leveraging AI and digital tools to improve learning and assessment effectiveness.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Capability Framework Optimization: Iterate and localize the established framework; define role- and level-specific capability standards, qualification criteria, and skill milestones; continuously refine certification rules with version management, aligned to business strategy, data insights, and compliance requirements.
- Assessment and Certification: Design and enhance standardized assessments (knowledge tests, practical assignments, simulations, 360 feedback); build dashboards to track capability levels and improvement; run regular reviews for continuous optimization.
- Training and Curriculum: Develop annual/quarterly learning roadmaps; co-design and deliver courses with external vendors (balancing localization and industry best practices); implement blended learning, on-the-job enablement, and mentorship to improve real-world impact.
- Execution and Change Management: Drive adoption and continuous improvement across business units; establish governance cadence and KPI/OKR; ensure linkage to business outcomes and compliance.
- Technology and AI: Explore digital/AI tools for content development, personalized learning, automated assessment, and scenario simulations to boost efficiency and quality.
- Vendor and Budget Management: Select and manage training vendors/consultancies; set RFP and evaluation standards; manage contracts and budgets; measure ROI and optimize investments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration and Compliance: Partner with Marketing, Medical, Sales, HR/L&D, Legal, and IT to align with business goals and adhere to China healthcare regulations and company compliance.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree or above; majors in Marketing, Business, HR/L&D preferred; MBA or relevant certifications (L&D, Project Management) a plus.
2. Experience:
- 8–12 years in pharma/healthcare; minimum 3–5 years in core marketing roles (brand management, launch, marketing strategy, digital).
- 3–5 years in corporate L&D/OD with end-to-end training program delivery experience.
- Proven experience managing cross-BU, nationwide programs and change initiatives.
3. Functional Competencies:
- Marketing: brand strategy, market insights/research, launch and lifecycle management, omnichannel/digital marketing, HCP/patient insights, compliant communication.
- L&D: capability framework iteration, curriculum design and learning methods, assessment/certification design, learning analytics.
- Project/Vendor Management: RFP and evaluation, contract/budget control, quality and risk management.
- Strong interest in AI for content generation, personalization, and assessment automation.
4. Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and influence, strategic and structured thinking, data-driven and outcome-oriented
- Bilingual proficiency (Chinese/English) to work with global/local teams and external partners.
