Associate Director, Physician (Rare Disease)

Key Accountabilities

  • Driving the cross-functional team to make out and carry on the product development strategy as technical leader.
  • Identifying the unmet medical needs on the indications, providing qualified medical assessments to guide clinical development teamwork.
  • Providing product clinical development plan aiming to generate necessary scientific evidence for the registration.
  • Close collaboration with global and local product team to make sure China’s strategy and plan included in the holistic global plan efficiently.
  • Accountable for successful study conduct and delivery of all in-scope clinical studies.
  • Accountable for the overall clinical, scientific content within the Clinical Project team.
  • Providing coach and consultation to project team members as medical expert.
  • Keeping pace with the advancement in the research and development especially in CGT and trends in scientific literature with active in education the team accordingly.
  • Leading scientific communication and preparation of high-level documents in the registration process.
  • Recognized as a scientific and opinion leader of the discipline, represents AstraZeneca and its clinical science team at external events, develops and maintains contacts with opinion leaders.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience Essential

  • Advanced degree in medicine or life sciences with 5+ years of field-based experience in research and clinical development or academia.
  • Cell and gene therapy clinical development experience is a must with demonstrated achievements and deliverables regardless of exact disease area background.
  • Overall experience of 10+ years in R&D taking study physician role with extensive experience in study design, medical monitoring and implementing clinical studies as well as study results interpreting.
  • Demonstrated excellence in stakeholder management to deliver qualified study results timely and efficiently.
  • Strong entrepreneurship, proactively supports functional and R&D China initiatives, takes accountability to close the loop with necessary deliveries.
  • Thriving in an open and dynamic environment and being high change agility.

Desirable

  • Neurologic disease area medical background or the relevant TA R&D experience is highly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of the latest technical and regulatory developments.
  • Commercial understanding.
  • Strong problem-solving skill.
